February is the month of loooove, and I’m all about sharing as much love as possible.
But giving love abundantly is only possible when you’re giving from a place of abundance.
That is– you can’t pour from an empty cup.
This month I’m bringing to you a special series all about self-care, so you can keep your love cup full to the brim.
Because the truth is, burnout is real.
(if you need a few quick tips to avoid burnout, grab this handy little guide).
As busy professional, entrepreneurial women, we are over-worked and over-stressed and it can wreak havoc on our health, wealth and relationships.
Each week in February I’ll be sharing 5 insanely easy things you can do to love yourself (in a smart, not selfish, way) so you can serve and make an impact at your best.

20 Insanely Easy Ways to Love Yourself & Beat Burnout – Part 2
When you’re hustling to build your business or career, it’s easy to become focused on what you lack and how far you still have to go. A good practice to help you on this journey is to regularly practice gratitude.
As busy as you might be, try to pause each day and quickly jot down a list of all the things you are grateful for in that moment.
Start by just thinking of one thing each day and reviewing your gratitude list at the end of each week. This will help you shift your mindset and keep you resilient when you’re on the brink of burnout.
Saying no is one of the most powerful ways to love and take care of yourself (and it took me a long time to master).
For a busy woman building a business or hustling to get ahead in your career, it can be very tempting to take every opportunity that comes your way.
You schedule all the meetings and fill your calendar to the brim without even realizing it. But the inevitable result of this is burnout, resentment and full on meltdowns.
When you say yes to everybody, you’re saying no to rest, no to spending time with your loved ones, and no to having time to prepare healthy meals and exercise.
Constantly saying yes to other peoples’ priorities might cause resentment if you feel taken advantage of, but the power of choice lies with you.
You can choose to say no even when you don’t have to.
Leave more than enough room in your schedule to be flexible and take opportunities that you really want when they come up.
Ahhhh that beautiful snooze button!
Sleeping in is one of the best ways to love yourself, especially if you’re schedule is always packed with activities.
We often think of “healthy” as eating well or exercising often. But those habits are only a part of the equation.
Adequate rest is essential to a sharp mind, balanced hormones and a strong body. You might be going through a particularly busy season of your life where you’ve just accepted that the good old 8 hour rule is just not going to happen.
And that’s okay.
Give yourself some grace and schedule a day on the weekend to hit snooze, stay in bed a little longer and maybe catch an extra REM cycle.
There’s just something about serving others with no strings attached that lifts your spirits.
You love yourself when you participate in the cycle of kindness because in the process you open your heart to receive kindness as well (win-win!)
Plus, if you’re feeling particularly stressed or anxious about something, focusing on others also gives you a healthy way to take your mind off yourself and put your attention somewhere more productive.
The very act of laughing and smiling is incredibly healing and an amazing way to love yourself.
Whether it’s watching your favourite comedy, being silly with a friend, or just plain cracking yourself up, one good belly laugh every day can work wonders.
Laughing triggers a rush of feel good chemicals in your brain and has been shown to improve your immune system and relieve the stress that takes a toll on your physical and emotional health.
So it’s true–A merry heart really does do good like a medicine!
